Don't be afraid to sing along! I'll bet you know the tune!
This song was recorded on the Konnekt 24D interface RawBe sent me, the Studio Projects C1 from jchas, the MIDI controller from Mr. Hodgson, guitars miked by Sahiaman's Little Blondie, bongos and wooden frog gifted by my wife and daughters, knowledge gleaned from Gearslutz, and overall bouyant excitable energly supplied directly from the good folks on the More Free Stuff thread, where the giving never ends.
Thank you, RawBe, from the bottom of my heart, for reminding us all what's truly important in this life. May your cup be filled to overflowing with love, giggles and bellylaughs. Here's to you! | That was friggin AWESOME!!!!! |

does there happen to be anyone out there in GS land who might have a computer to donate to a broke person? i have a laptop that i am trying to use for everything, including my audio work, and would love to have a machine (desk or laptop) that i could dedicate just for audio (no internet, no other apps, no graphic enhancements, etc) and leave in the studio - my needs only include maybe 4 tracks ata a time for recording, up to 8 tracks playback with no more than 4 plugins, so an older machine should be fine. i would be using it with a lexicon U42s USB2 interface, so it would need USB2 ports. i know this is asking a lot...
thanks.

thanks. | I totally have an older P4 machine I hand built and used for audio for years, but I think the shipping would kill us. If you ever want to road trip to LA, it's yours... where are you located? now that I am thinking about it, I know someone who now lives in Eugene and comes back and forth to LA occasionally... hmmm....

Mark you've inspired me. I recently rescued my old digital piano. It's a Korg C-50 digital grand. The problem is it no longer fits in my small studio and I would have to take it downstairs in the living room to play.
My idea is to sell the thing or trade it in on a more portable unit. What I would really like is a sampling keyboard but it seems they no longer really make those. I of course don't have a lot of money and would want a full 88 keys.
Anyone have suggestions on a good keyboard? I was looking at the new Casio Privia but the samples on their website sound like......@))
It's a great song Mark and as I mentioned before it's a keeper for me and an absolutely awesome tribute to RBZ.
PEACE!

thanks. | My old laptop? Screen is broken so my brother was using it with a monitor, keyboard and mouse. It's nothing amazing (1.8GHz single core, 512mb ram) but it will work providing you slip a new hard drive in it and install Windows. I can't give you the monitor, keyboard and mouse but if you can afford a laptop hard drive (I can put a 60Gb in it for £30) and a copy of XP (I don't have it here I'm afraid, I can buy and install it if you're willing to cover that) it's okay. Just don't trap it without ventilation because it can get hotttt.
I don't sound like a good advertisment for it but if you're interested PM me. It's a good temporary computer and I just ask one thing: when it's finished it's time with you pass it on here.

PEACE! | I use an M-Audio Keystation 61es (there is an 88 key version). Semi-weighted, I think the 88 key is fully weighted and it's sweet. As for portability, there are no speakers or anything it's a straight up MIDI controller but NOTHING is plug and play compared to this. Pop in yhe USB cable and start playing it's awesome. I suppose you could look at the Yamaha portable digital pianos. I had a play with one a while ago now and loved it (going for around £500 brand new in the most expensive music store around here) and the hardest to please pianist I've ever met (a great guy none-the-less) loved it. If I can find the link when I'm back to my computer (GSing on my BlackBerry) I'll send it on over.

Hi folks !!!
I was out for a couple of days, and what do I hear ? An amazing song from Mark Kaufman !!! Lovely, Mark, so "funny but emotional" ! And it's also a great piece of recording, well done, man !!!
And what do I see ? Some more gear given, exchanged, offered !!! You're great boys !!!
Ok… I think it's now time for a little give-away !
Not very precious, but... who will be interested by a set of Telecaster pickups ? They are from a 2003 Squier Tele Standard model that I've modded.
Just send here a pic of the guitar you want to put them in ( I love guitar pics!), I will "blind sort" a name in a couple of days !
(I hope "blind sort" is the right word to say : I'll write the names on little papers, mix them in a hat and pick one up to have a winner... my english is so baaaad... )

So far, two have expressed interest in this...Big Country, who would hook it into a guitar, and YodaWrapper, who would use it in a theater! Anyone else, before I make the choice? Quote:

By the way, the wine you sent was incredible. I shared it with two of my friends, and we toasted in your honor.
Thanks again. |

thanks. | Or... to avoid the heat, new HDD and Windows installation issues you can take my eMachines rig if you're willing to pay shipping. If you're interested PM me and I will pop it open to get the specs (not connected right now).

I'm listening to "Mr. RawBeanZen" for about the 25th time today... and it's still filling me with joy.
Thanks Mark. You've added a lot of happiness to this day.
And, of course, thanks to RawBeanZen and the rest of the good slutz for spurring on such acts of beauty.

Thanks again, everyone...but I think we all know the real thanks goes to RawBe...and he will say it goes elsewhere...not to mention poor Paul Simon...
And where does the buck really stop? Because we're thankful about giving and receiving, and for the spirit of giving. RawBeanZen made an effort to keep something like this going...and now there are more of us helping him out.
I say the best thing we can do is to GROW this baby!
Keep on givin'! Give it UP! Ye-AH! Can I hear some James Brown?? YE-AH!
Whatcha got ta GIVE??
Hoo!
When I get home I'm going to open up the vault and see what else is laying about not getting used. And Sir Skillz needs a DVD player! This too can be done!
Maybe if we all keep giving, we'll all get rich! |

How's everything goin guys? Been very hectic around here. So much work, so little time.
I have the amp very close to finished. I need to figure out what kind of chassis I can put it in. But I can't wait to circulate that around!
