Top of the morning from Rautalampi!

Man, I'm itching to buy an old MCI 2" 24 track on sale for 1500€.

The itch has no relief for me, since I'm 1500€ short.

But maybe someday...

Hang in there Skillz. Don't be offended for me telling how I think of the loss we experience when someone close to us passes away... I take great comfort from the thought that death does not take anything away from our real relationship with the person who's gone.

Every single moment you have spent together will always be there. And so are the emotions. The only thing that's changed is that now you are certain your expectations of future together can't become reality.

But if you stop to think about it, there's no certainty for that with anyone or anything in this life. People disappear from your life or loose their significance to you all the time for reasons other than death. Old close friends became strangers, some move somewhere far away, and despite mutual promises you loose touch with them...

The circle of our loved ones is in the state of constant change. It is natural. And the death is the most natural reason for that of them all. It happens to everyone of us.

Our time in here is short, and we are fools if we don't make the best out of it.

As I said to RawBeanZen some time ago, life is too wonderful to waste. Death is not a waste of it, but a natural conclusion.

Mourn what you must, but make an effort to move on. You have all the moments you have spent together forever stored in your heart. And if it is so, you will be united in the future.

(Above is actually meant to be comforting. If it got you offended, sorry. Not my intention. Just did my best to share my view on death)

Anyone got a spare copy of the home recording guide? Just got the Tascam FW-1082, and am finding out exactly what I don't know. Perhaps an instructional video you found very helpful way back when???

Thanks to all. Keep it goin...

Dave Pittenger.............WOW!!!!!!!!

A very special gift has arrived here today, and I'm just blown away.

It's an iPod containing playlists of the "desert island" albums of many of the frequenters of this thread, as well as quite a bit of their original music. The playlists are organized not by genre, but by GS user name.

I'm quite moved by this. What a thoughtful, inspired gift.

To dpianomn for orchestrating this and to all of you who contributed....

That's awesome! You should share the playlists (just the list, not the actual Apple Loseless files)
