Hi Bobwarren, thanks for jumping in.

A dear friend's recording studio burned to the ground several months ago. There wasn't time to save much.

He's in the midst of a total nightmare in dealing with the insurance company, and is feeling a little beat up by life these days.

Anyway, if no one has nibbled at your offer of the Fostex D-5 I'd like to score it on his behalf, then surprise him with it.

Happy to pay for shipping.

If it's already spoken for, then never mind and thanks anyway!

Hey Mike,

That is an awesome, generous offer. I think it will bring a smile to the face of everyone here. I can't take you up on it right now, but, my girlfriend's best friend is a Spaniard who keeps threatening to move back there. If and when that happens we will be required to visit her. At that point you can look for me to drop in for some good Spanish beer and tapas.

Small world keeps getting smaller. Peace!

Hey forum-goers...
I have a rather embarrassing array of stuff, but here goes.
I want to be in the 'in crowd'.
I've got two recently non-functioning ADATs (its a power issue, they were working dandy and now just won't turn on), a BRC for them and two LRCs (remotes).
I've also got a Lowrey organ in mint condish if anyone is out in the Sacramento area...

I feel like I should apologize for taking up space with these offers...

RWagner,
You were "in" the moment you opened the thread. (If this is truly the "in" crowd...chances are you were always "in" anyway.)
No need to feel any sort of inferior. It's the giving, not the gift. Happy to have you here. Welcome.

That wavelab looks like a way cool item.

PEACE!

Hereabouts, it is indeed the thought and not the worth in gold that matters. Welcome!

I'm taking a course in electronics (self-taught). If I thought for a minute I'd have time to tear into those ADATs and try to fix them, I'd jump. And regift if and when repaired. But Spring is nigh, with garden to plant, and smallmouth moving into the shallows...

Thank you kindly, Bobby, on behalf of a dear friend of mine who's going through a very difficult time.

Cheers.

Re. Tenerife

Nick the Sax, your on, when you want my friend, just PM me. What style you play, you a jazzer? Flights can be had out of London for a pittance! (If you book in advance)

MTD, whenever you want!

RBZ, thanks for the friendship!

Its good to see this thread again, its become my pre bedtime routine to check in on you lovely people. I play every night in an irish pub here. My old piano teacher walked into my bar tonight to both of our suprises, hes on holidays. I was a trembling wreck for 5 minutes but calmed down then a bit, and played my ass off. Its really great to see people coming when you live on an Island, and so hopefully one of you guys will take me up on this one day.

nite nite all

My Turn!!!

Ok,
I received a nice little reverb box from stagefright13 in the mail last week. I have just hooked it up tonight and will start using it this week.
My first reverb box and it seems to be a decent sounding one as well.

So, I feel like it is my turn. I do not have much but I have more than nothing.
I have a Echo Gina20 PCI AD/DA that I would love someone to get some use out of.
2 in/ 8 out box w/ spdif i/o and it has a nice Gorillaz sticker on the top.

pm me and its yours!

GO!

Hey, is that thing still available??!

Well folks, it's been 6 months since the brilliant conception of this thread and I'd like us all to take a moment to look back and reflect on all the extra good that has been brought into the world because of you wonderful folks.

I don't have a lot to offer right now but I am going to give away 6 brand-new Auralex Mini-Fusors in celebration of the 6 month anniversary. The first person to post about how this thread has positively influenced their life wins them. No PMs. Your must post it for everyone to read.

Here's a pic of what they look like painted and mounted. Yours will be new in un-painted white.

Bowie this thread has positively influenced my life by showing me people still have the intrinsic goodness in them that is mostly overshadowed in todays society(in mine anyway) and has given me faith in people again.

Kind regards hombre

I love this thread... RawBeanZen started it the day I joined gearslutz; I didn't join because of the thread, but I found it about 15 minutes after joining, and it's become not just my favorite part of this forum, but of the internet in general.

I mean, I've gotten cool bits for my little home studio, some sweet odds and ends, and seen hundreds of entertaining youtube videos... always brings a smile to my face.

And it does feel good to give stuff away!

I'm sure the mini's are gone but let me tell you. Not only has this thread effected me in a positive light it has kept me going on days when I thought I couldn't take anymore. (Like today for example)
I'm waiting on approval for disability (I have a bad back..... no sympathy please) The amount of money I am given to live on till then would barely buy a 2 weeks groceries for a family of three. There are days when that can really drag me down. I've been wheeling a dealing some, making new friends as a result of this thread. I've been working with my local voc rehab and they are helping me with some acoustics for my studio....I might not have bothered if it weren't for a suggestion as a result of this thread.
Not only that but the gifts I have received from your generosity has helped keep me busy and my mind off what's going on. Even more important are those small little gifts you've allowed me to give. I hope to be able to give more very soon. In the meantime, if I need to be uplifted, or if I want to be brought to tears of joy. I come here. The "in" crowd...nah I don't think so. Just a small gathering changing the world one small gift at a time.
PEACE my friends. You are among the best!

Bowie that's an awesome gift! I guess I would say, for me, this thread has restored my faith in humanity. I will not say that I had a negative outlook on it but this thread has confirmed my belief that most people in this World are good and try to do good. I have always thought that but for a while it seemed everyone was at each other's throats. This thread reaffirms my belief

Even if I don't "win", which is totally cool with me, I did want to just say that publicly.
