PM me if you are interested in helping out, I'll make it up for you anyway I can. (Of course I'll pay all the expenses!)

Tomi, if you still need help, let me know. I do a lot of buying/selling/shipping so I could probably do it for you.

In 2003 I was short on cash and needed to pay $500 studio rent plus a huge electric bill. I put my beat-to-shit WH-1 on Ebay and it paid both of those bills with money left over.

Hey Brad! Nice contribution! I'm the dude from Norway that ate dinner with you on Gearslutz night at AES Amsterdam. How's that headphone amp coming along? Huh? Huh?

And for others, check out post 165... I'm still waiting.... (To those who have PM'd me, sorry, but the shipping to the states would be so much that I might as well send you the cash to buy a new one. However, in the next six months I plan on making it back to the states and THEN I'll bring a whole rack of dust collecting goodies plus some mics for the homies. )

Hello, y'all.

I received the Grace 101 last night - I'm still in a bit of shock. Thank you, once again to RawBeanZen for all the good vibes.

When I first plugged it in, it recognized the input signal but did not pass output. I opened it up to see if there was anything obviously wrong, but there wasn't. I closed it back up, plugged it in again, and the unit worked perfectly.

I reamped a DI'd acoustic gtr track using a home made Jensen-designed reamp box, an Ampeg Gemini II amp, an SM81 and the Grace. Sounded very good.

Today and tomorrow I'll try it on a few different things and will report my findings. Again, if I don't love it, I will offer it back into GearSlutzLand. And if I do, I'll have to start looking around for some stuff to return to the Great Karmatron.

All the best,

Ivan

Wow... that's an incredibly nice offer... almost worth driving to WI for... if I still went to lots of concerts, I'd seriously consider a road trip, because cheap Hearos earplugs tend to fall out of my ears too much... I saw Mega from the front row once, lost my earplugs to moshers after one song...

Ok...I have decided to give away at least 1 thing a month for the next year (maybe longer). don't have a lot but this is definitely manageable....I don't want to see this thread go away. I have some big items that I will be able to give away shortly (back in NJ)...but to kick it off I have the following to offer....

I have 3 old AKG dynamics that I purchased as part of a mixed bag of mics and stuff through craigslist last year. They don't see much use so hopefully somebody needs them. They have a 2 position bass roll-off and have a very unique colored sound. One of them is not quite functioning right (low output). i will try to fix it up but if anyone has more expertise and would like to fix it up that would be awesome.

I have some extra mic cables if anyone is in need

Ibanez fuzz pedal

If anyone is in need of soldering skills, I can probably help you out. If you're looking at getting an SCA kit or something but don't know how to solder, I'd be happy to build it for you. If its something else, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

If you are in the Boston area and need some recording done, I would be happy to engineer a song or two at my school's studio.

Let me know!

Dylan

Man, great thread!
Nice to see the good vibes... I'm going to have a look around my space and see if there's anything I have to contribute.

Keep up the good work, guys! thumbsup

I have a Whirlwind IMP 2 DI if anyone needs it. Not a big ticket item, but it's free. And it works, unlike the my ART DI/O earlier in this thread that literally burned up while testing it before shipping it to someone earlier this week.

I'm digging out some other stuff to put up here too...

PM me if you want it. (will pay shipping if in US)

I have a DOD "Death Metal Distortion" pedal for grabs if anyone wants it. Doesn't have a power supply but I guarantee it works!

Glad to see this made sticky status. Thanks RawBeanZen for starting this thread and the gift you sent me the other day. It was the most valuable of all. Thanks to Olivia for the inspiration.
All that being said....I still have a couple items to give away and will still offer my voice services should someone want them.

The Avenson DI's look awesome! What a great benefit to someone who needs a DI and can't afford it. Excellent!
If you're in SE WI take up dykstra on that offer! I have some musician earplugs and they're worth what I paid at full price. If the price was a problem before you have no excuse now! Really cool man. Thanks!

I have a Steinberg SMP24 that I would like to give away to anyone who is still running an Atari Cubase system or early PC system that supports it in Cubase. OR it can also be used as a stand-alone timecode display reader. Will ship for free US only.

Also have a hefty Strat bridge that can be used for hard-tail or tremolo. Again free shipping to US only.

Reddi update

OK everyone, I can't accept any more PMs about the REDDI at this point.

My hands are quite full going through all the requests.

I'll carefully read every word, and later today (with BOWIE'S help) I'll announce the winner.

Cool?

EDIT: Good God, you're right Justin!!!!

I would like to take this moment to apologize to the entire Gearslutz community and I solemnly swear to unleash gratuitous emoticonitude in each and every post from here on out so help me Fedor.

I can't stop laughing! I was wondering how long it would take before you had to put the brakes on that one!

This is going to be a tough decision...
