I know exactly what you are saying, my first attempt, before I started this thread, I added too much reverb and was getting nasty results. Now, I backed off MAJORLY on the verb and the results are awesome.... for me anyways. Haven't tried the dual mono verbs yet...

Sometimes you need bland to just blend in the background.

But when dealing with vanilla i pass.

I did like at times the M5000 and M6000.

Also the M4000 has a couple of nice patches.

The M2000 to me is a waste.
I started with the M-One, moved up to the M2000 and then the M3000. I found usable sounds on all but the 3000 is very good to my ears. I thought it had the same processor and programs as the 6000?

As far as bland/vanilla, is this really a bad thing? Of course I have morphed into using these things to add space as opposed to being an "effect", so maybe that is the difference for me. The M3000 has some very good sounding "spaces".

The R-880 is on a different hemisphere.

You got 2?

I have one and but i have all the cards for it.

The George Massenberg/Roger Nichols card is a must.

My R-880 has been stuck on the snare plate from this card for 3 months.
I don't have that card. I do have a card I bought from Lee (Ensnare You) a while back and it does have some really nice patches. Can I get a copy of that snare plate from you somehow?

As a side note, I started out trying to use one programmer for the 2 R880's. Though it can be done, this is a real hassle. I sold the second unit without the programmer and replaced it with another one with the programmer. These things are the best!

Heres a tip for vocals. Record your main vocal take. Then do a second vocal take kind of identical.

When recording the second take...use little or no tracking compression.

Match them up. Add compression on the first vocal take but leave the second uncompressed

Add some reverb on uncompressed one and it'll be emphasised on the louder parts to make a really nice natural sound.

The M3000 use a VSS-3 engine right?

Isn't the M6000 VSS-4?

Like i said sometimes bland is cool and necessary.

I feel all of the Convulition reverbs fall into this category.

The M3000 is just lifeless to me.

I've never been the biggest fan of TC revebs.

I love the TC2290,1210,Fireworx and G-Force(I own them all).

I think TC does better with modulation effects than reverbs.

For a space type reverb i prefer the Sony R-7/DPS-V77 or the Quantec QRS.

I've heard of Lee's card but have never tried it.

Yeah maybe we can work something out.

Its funny i use the snare patch more for vocals than i do on snares(which works great also).
