Getting clients upon opening my studio

I just opened my tracking/mixing studio.

Any suggestions on attracting new clients w/o already having done previous projects here?

How about a little more info? Have you tracked/mixed other projects? Are you a professional AE?

I think we're talking about straight-up marketing here. I would definitely have a website with photos, equipment and a former clients/credits list. Then I would think about places to advertise (i.e. local indie rags, etc.). Once you get some clients who had a good experience, word of mouth will help bring business in as well.

Good luck!

Maybe charge a "discounted" or "special" rate the first two months just to get people in the door. A "grand opening special", if you will...

And then hopefully they will be your repeat customers for years to come.

And (IME) they WILL expect (and in fact) probably demand the "special" rate, ad infinitum.

To hire an engineer or producer with an established 'following' to bring customers in, would be my suggestion.

Good Luck!
