| Gear interested | VSL vs. East West
Hi There! I can only answer part of your question with my biased opinion. I own both the East West Platinum and the VSL Orchestral Library. Having played harp and oboe in orchestras for the past 13 years, you get to know exactly what an orchestra sounds like, which articulations to use where, and the raw sound of a real instrument. VSL, hands down, is the best library out there. I made every effort to buy every orchestra possible, from Miroslav Vitous, Edirol, Garritan, EWQLP, to several others, and no one has captured the true soaring of strings, blatting of brass, and singing of the woodwinds as VSL has. They are truly remarkable samples. The price is well worth it. Please keep in mind this is only my opinion, I'd take a real orchestra over samples anyday, but in their absence, I'll only use VSL. |
