Is that a bypass switch amongst the knobs? I begged him to put one there when I saw this thing at AES. .

Technically, as long as it remains unused it falls into the "Doorstop" catagory..

hey ~ufo~, I think you have the best South Park avatar yet!

Fearn compressor, mmm mmm b!#ch!

I'm soon to be scoring an old Focusrite Blue 230 w/ both input and output transformers. Rebuilding my compressor collection, which was depleted by an ebay addiction.

Really? thanks, I made a few for my band's forum.
check 'em out on http://www.sofatonic.com/forum
there are some good ones between there.
it is amazing how much you can make them resemble the real thing.

I just started making a web and sent them to some friends...
nine times out of ten, they'd IMMEDIATELY burst out laughing, screaming the name of the person I modeled the avatar after...

in the case of my avatar, I must admit the attention to detail is truly stellar.
I made this for the forum admin (soy yo) aptly named God.
If you look closely ( http://members.home.nl/van.gemert/God.pdf ), you can even make out the little mesh singlet I'm prone to wearing on stage on a hot day.
truly amazing amount of detail to be sure

anyway, there's a contest about God in one of the threads at the moment (we're honoured to have his holiness as a guest mod at the moment)
Most Dutchies on the forum can't figure it out, but I'm sure you gearslutters will hit the nail on the head.....iso hitting the hammer on the head like our regulars do

you can find that thread over here http://www.sofatonic.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=30

happy huntin' !

[/spam]

as you were.....

sure they did, kid's named God

you got it, apparently a very tough enigma though, for our predominantly Dutch audience.... still waiting for someone to crack it, thought it'd be easy as..... heaven?

Not to brag, but we've had one for a while, and it's logging a lot of travel time between our rooms. Basically, we fight for it. For me, it's the sort of thing that once you get used to mixing into it (or mastering with it), it's really hard to give it up.

Unfortunately there is no bypass switch, and the power switch is awkwardly recessed under the power cord in the back. But the sound is totally worth it. Somehow seems to add girth to the middle while also enhancing and smoothing the sides, without much apparent gain change (though you can get a bit of gain out of it if you like). It's a dream, I highly recommend you try one out. Doug's a great guy, and we appreciate him letting us try out his wonder box so early (serial #2 until we got our production unit #10 )

I'm talking about the tiny switch amongst the knobs... not the bigger toggles under the meters (which do seem to be output/GR).. That is a switch, isn't it?

Exams over yet there? Something's rotten in Denmark.

So you know why there's no bypass switch?

Apart from those 2 minor things..........it rocks......

I haven't heard the fan yet... we just sent back our demo, so that means we'll be fighting for the use of our one unit again. Simply putting it on the 2-mix makes ITB mixing so much easier. Was nice tracking bass too.
