Which one? SD e47 vs TELE M16 vs PELUSO 22 47 LE

I'm interested in purchasing a nice tube mic specifically for recording vocals but within a certain price range. I can have an E47 at a great price but still would be a grand more than the other two mics. Is it worth it?
Interested in advice from anyone who has heard or is using any or all of the listed mics.

Why no mention of Gefell? Or the Neumann M149? Stephen Paul's company is supposed to drop an affordable mic soon, and the Brauner valvet is a nice mic for the money.

I am not saying anything bad about the three you listed... I'm just trying to add a few more for you to choose from!!! thumbsup

2 of the 3 mics I listed are well under $2k. TI have a good deal for the E47 however it would put it just over the $2k pricing.
I'm very familier with the M149 but you are now in the $3k area.
I'm interested in good sounding tube mics in the $2k and under range...unless there's some amazing deal on a more expensive mic that I couldn't resist.

I've heard the Tele USA 251 but not the M16. It loooks nice and Mr. Fishman's company seems to releasing quality microphones. I've only heard good things about the Peluso mics but have not heard any in person. Just wondering if either of these mics might give the E47 a run for it's money.

Well... Like the E47, Peluso makes a U47 inspired mic. The M16 is not a U47 inspired mic at all. I have not heard it yet(so I have no opinion), but I know it is way different in design (for better or worse... don't know till I hear it).

With that being said, Peluso is always for sale on ebay and keeps dropping in price it seems. I still have never seen one sell. For what that is worth.

2K is a lot of money, and if I were in the market to spend it, I would save a little while and give myself the option of the 3k mics. There seems to be a lot more to chose from when you can get up to 3k. Just an observation...

I would call Brad Lunde and consult with him... he deals with a few players in that 2k price range...

Thanks for your response 84K but I would still like to hear from people who actually have used and the heard the mics. Would like to know how they differ and could they possibly compare with an M149?
