I'm puzzled why they would implement the (aging) renncomp and maxxbass algos into a 'new' L2, instead of using the L3 multiband or singleband process for this 'new' box...

It is mildly interesting, but I would prefer just the L3 algos and the latest converters, without the plugins. I'm guessing most mastering houses would agree.

Which dictates this unit as a 'new finaliser' for the prosumer project market, but with a $3295 MSRP...

I don't get it. Pass the crack pipe.

On first glance the L2 portion seems to have less functionality than the existing hardware L2... perhaps further evidence of the intended market for this product.

3300 bucks? for algos from the computer stone age?

that's ridiculous.

why not building a hardware L3 for 1700-2000$?
