Mic pre's micing guitar cabinets?

What kind of pre do you guys like when micing up a guitar cabinet. Neve type, tube, etc.

i learned here that api 512c, great river preamps, chandler tg2 and the old 1073 are the route to go.

and after long sessions trying, yes, this is completly right. especially with the 512c and the tg2. it just opend up a whole new world of guitar sounds for me, since starting using those.

api, helios, Daking

Most high quality pres will do. My favorites that I have used for elec guitars are api, helios and Daking. All are great.

The same one type of high quality pre you record the entire rest of the record with.
