burning master-cd

Hi,
This week I will burn my first mastering cd to send to a cd-reproduction company. The cd exists from multiple songs but samples between the songs paste them all together. When I burn the cd using mac OSX and iTunes I can't get a little pause between the songs out. Anyone any idea how to solve this?I alleady put the pause in iTunes on zero sec's.
Thanx!

you need to use a redbook burn with track markers instead of orange book track at a time wich is what itunes uses. i use pyramix and disc write to do this but there is plenty of other software out there that will do this. hopefully some of the mastering slutz will read this and give you a better anwser about what out there to do this. or try looking HERE you could do a search there and probably find your anwser.

also if you are going to burn for the master make sure you have a great cdr for your master. i like mitsu silvers and apogee's. also the virbatem disc that look like a record on top, actual has a lower error rate then there high end data life plus.
and itunes is one of the worst burning programs ive ever used. but hey its free right.

Roxio Jam 6 used here. I have only burned in iTunes when it comes out of the itunes library. And that from MP3 or AAC. In fact, I've never use the Mac's burning at all, it's Toast and Jam here.

You need redbook spec'd software to make replication masters. Better yet, take it to a reputable mastering engineer - you'll find out it may sound better than you think! (or worse, inwhich case back to the studio!)

Good luck.

I'll look for the software. I assumed that iTunes wasn't the best program but indeed, it's free. The band I recorded doesn't really have a budget left to bring it to a mastering engineer. It's a shame, but nothing I can do anything about. I guess I'll have to use the finalizer on it. :( Thanx for the nice replies people! It helped a lot.

Careful with that Finalizer! You can do far more damage than good if you aren't very cautious with it. Go invest in Bob Katz' book Mastering Audio - for $30 you'll have a LOT more info to keep you out of trouble.

Meant with great sincerity and good wishes!
