Thread Starter | mic for acoustic gt, help! I'm looking for a good mic mainly for acoustic guitar sometimes for vocal that has a nice tight bottom, and forward big strumming sound, and a Manley pres is all I've got, my budget is under $1500. I've search the forum but I need a more specific advice. thanks |

my current favorite acoustic guitar mics are a josephson c42, josephson e22s, soundelux u-195, cad m-9 and a t.h.e. kp-6m. all are good depending on the guitar/song, etc.. for $1500 you could get a t.h.e. kp-6m and a gefell m-930 (or soundelux u-195) and have a couple of good acoustic options and a good vocal option. good luck, joshua | |

| I typically prefer large diaphragms when micing an acoustic, although I've heard great success at other times with KM100's. I like KM86's a lot, but as far as current mics go, the U195, the Pearlman TM1, Audio Technia makes some good stuff, the Royer 121 sounds good, and I've also had good results with the Shure KSM44. |

Thread Starter | thanks for the inputs guys! cause there's no way I can demo these mics, so I need you opinion to narrow down my search. I see alot of people mentioned u195 & m930, but which one can give me the biggest image? I like my guitar big and forward. ![]() |
