Gearslutz is turning into Los Angeles

Well, not literally. Heh, but I love how a bunch of listed suggestions throws my message field off my laptop screen like automated room service trying to inform me about L.A. as I punch it in.

I'm not complaining, I love this place. If I were to complain it'd probably be about the squirrel monkey as being the reigning champion of smilies for like at least 2 years running. ?? Uh hello. Can I get some fries with the meal? Oh, and some new smiley icons too please. Thanks.

I'm kind of glad I got my 2000+ noobie questions out of the way before 2009. Kind of feels like I bought real estate of something. Phew. Boy, the traffic these days.

See y'all on the I-101 forum.

....and dfegad but not on stike or you'll be like

Heh, that's okay. Maybe it's an L.A. thing, maybe I'm just too lucid. ?

The Dodgers are doing so bad I can't even stand staying on the Internet anyway.

I think the east coast is a much better choice, Atlanta is far better than LA, perhaps another country since im not to proud of the present.

I'm an LA person and I didn't get it. I might just be too slow, can you explain? Is this about the new categories in the titles or something?

It's all the transplants that talk smack about LA. All the 8x10's come here to be actors and actresses and assume that they have to behave a certain way. Most people I know that were born and raised in LA are pretty down to earth.

I know this probably has nothing to do with what soupking was saying. It was a LA natives rant.

It's really just a crack on the website's metropolis if you will, nothing more. That with a bunch of LA references cuz that's what my monkey brain's ascertained from being a freelance 'vine-grabber' with an old truck driving around LA.

I work with online, so probably a lot of what I have to say is familiar to me in essence, and strangely esoteric to another. Like this one, things become relative. That's all and sometimes one feels a need to crack open a nice fresh cold WTF?!

This thread probably belongs in another column by now but, anyway, I like sometimes just yelling something arrogant to see who's busy working and who's thinking and relaxing.

Anyway, dfegadit.

Wow, the pee actually lands right on top of the i in 'it'. That's awesome!

Heh, sheeit, I should make it my new sig.

I agree with you truffle shuffle, this place is becoming like a clogged LA freeway. At least they're aren't too many gang bangers, well at least I hope not.

On my computer, that monkey looks like he's jerking off.

Kind like this thread.

And I'm guessing L.A.

Am I being to subtle?

I just got back from LA three days ago.

It's hot.

Actually, I only met a few fake people. Most were very friendly, and tended to be born there.

this hit me recently as well, when i realized a couple ubercompetitive coworkers were from the midwest. something to prove. what to who i can't figure out, since the only one who appears to be aware of this competition is themselves. maybe they just need a nice trophy.

I just got back from LA on Sunday.... to Phoenix. THe weather in LA is beautiful compared to this place!

I really like LA. Tons of life and stuff to do. Plenty of weird people and creative people and fake people and cool people, just like any big city.

I got back from L.A. a couple weeks ago. My twin brother lives in Glendale, and was far more lucid than SK seems to be.

It was hot. I grew up in San Diego, and I don't remember it being that hot. Of course, now that I live in Savannah, GA I know what hot is.

I lived in L.A. (Sherman Oaks) in '80/'81 and I have made a trip or two there every year for the last ten years.
I can't believe how LITTLE the place has changed!

When I lived the ('80/'81) I was still in "rock band mode" and although I had gigged A LOT in the south and played with great players I was blown away by how diverse the L.A. music world was!
It was eaither cats that couldn't play at all who formed a band or GIANTS playing at small club to a handfull of people.
BUT..... EVERYONE looked so hip!
I was intimidated, but my super savvy girlfriend (a Glendale native) had me up to speed in no time!
I learned to survive on my own.

I was out there again in '90/'91 with a band on a major label.
EVERYTHING was on the label's tab!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
It was a completely different perspective.
In '90/'81 I couldn't afford to pay for much, but ten years later I didn't have to pay for anything!
That changes your view!

Now I am out there doing shows for dance events or hanging with my Hollywood studio friend and his buds.
I don't really care about the music biz no mo'
It makes it all really fun and cool because I can observe everything from a different perspective.
Hollywood is still wierd, but it is almost "quaint" now.
