What gear have you guys used that has sparked the most creativity and originality in your work?

it's interesting to me that your top 2 are a mic and pre since their main use is for translation and not really for "creation" for lack of a better word..

They will always inspire/create me while tracking, API is something to depend on, others are great as well, API is just a all round great inspired gear, and you can almost record anything with a u87.

Your question made me think a bit..........

I'd have to say that my use of delays has helped me get creative......automated plugs on guitar and vox tracks.

Itīs not gear. But if there was a piece of gear called "experiment" Iīd be the first to buy it. Trying new things, even if the rules tells you that you canīt do it, has given me a lot of inspiration in music production.

Filters, compression and analog synths for me.
