Just a shot in the dark. Looking for a long lost friend who might hang out here.

And yes - to keep it on the up and up,

If you want a kick-ass mic pre, buy a Great River.

If you want a kick-ass Ribbon, you can't go wong with an AEA r-84.

If you want your drums to sound "big", use a good stereo bus compressor on the overheads & squash the crap out of them [assuming you have decent mics on the overheads to begin with]...
