Would you buy a HD rig from Thomann?

Hi!
I´ve just checked the price for a HD 3 system with all Digi stuff, 2 192i/o, 2 Digi Pre, Digi monitors, C24 at Thomann in Germany and was totally blown away of the price.
The price at Thomann would be 34.560 Euro and here in Sweden 45.470 Euro.
But.....do I dare to buy this on mail order? Would you?

I have nothing but good experiences with them, so I would. With that high order you should call them and negotiate the price. At least free shipping ;-)

No problem with Thomann.

I bought them a lot of high end gear at reasonable prices.

You can totally rely on Thomann. Even the service is pretty good! Bought loads of them, never a problem and ALWAYS sharp prices.

Actually, I'd call that *excellent* service!
And then the local shops wonder why they're going out of business...

Thomann's service is excellent. It's the only 'Guitar Center'-type store (you know what I mean) that I use. Delivery times were often beyond belief (i.e FAST) and I never had a problem with the occasional return.

And unlike a lot of other stores, I never had the impression that I was being taken advantage of with shipping fees from Germany to Switzerland.

I didn't even knew that they sell HD systems though, thanks for the tip!

But the first place I would check for HD systems is dutchmuzik on e-bay. Do a search here, he's a most trustworthy seller with great prices for HD bundles.

eBay Seller: dutchmuzik: Pro Audio Stage Effects, Electronic Instruments items on eBay.com

Ok, thank´s for responding guys!
Good to hear the positive words about Thomann.
They really have nice prices and a lot of high end gear too.
It´s a goldmine if you know what you want.

Has anyone dealed with the price when shopping a lot and got
an even lower price?

As someone working behind the counter, I can tell you that for most products, we can beat Thomann's prices. There was a time when almost everything was cheaper to buy from there, but it's shifted back. Then there are some of those really crazy deals they do, where we just shake our heads in wonder..

... and then I go and order them myself!

My point? Have you checked from your local importer and/or shop if they can meet that price?

Sometimes goods, marked as 'in store', Thomann actually don't have in stock, but they are very quick, to to get them and sent to You. So, maybe sometimes there will be some little delays, but who cares. Also their customer service is nice. So, i recommend thomann.de.

Often the website don't reflect the "great" deal that the saleman on the phone can give you. So if you have to by PT now check with your local guy by the phone.

That said I buy all the time from Thomann and have always been happy.

A lot of the current stuff (192's) they're almost giving away pricewise, which is a sign that something new is on the horizon.

It goes without saying that if you can wait a couple months (AES show oct 2-5) do. If not, bargin a very low price !

Yes, that was my intention from the beginning and I talked with my dealer
about this today and he just shook his head. Ofcourse I will get some
lower price but not in that range.
But at the same time i feel that even if I pay a higher price I get instant
support and they are always availeble for me. So that has a great value too.
Also when I check US prices compared to what I have to pay here in Sweden it´s ridiculus. Beacuse the dollar course is pretty low for the moment.
But there are taxes and stuff added before I get my hands on the gear.

So I guess if I shop a whole system like HD i will earn a great deal of money but if I just let´s say just bought a microphone I probably buy
it here. I always get good prices and supprort/patience from them.

Nothing but great experiences with Thomann for me, thumbs up!

(yes i would buy hd or similar from them if i was buying locally but from my ex-digi days and shit breaking down (not hd admittedly) I would only buy digi products if it was on my street and i could walk back to the shop every day when it broke down).

Depends on how the customs are coming back into your country. If they doen't check, like when coming into Italy or France from the US, it's worth buying a ticket to the states and bringing stuff back in your luggage. Of course for things like moniteurs and C24's that's not possible though........
