The White Stripes: Elephant

Recently dug out my elephant cd and have been really diggin it lately. Noticed it was recorded at Toe Rag and found this little interview with Liam Watson, thought it might interest some people...

there was a big to do about this album and the making of it. i thought it was kinda funny, just go the other way. i like the album, one of my more favorites put out that year. and i love the kick drum on the opening track. i like the fact they were forced into simplicity because of the restrictions in the gear.

cool SOS article.

i believe the info in the article on the studer A80 RC model is not quite accurate - RC stands for Radio Canada, and the RC machines were built to the specs of CBC. my A80 is an RC. one of the more noticable differences is the self-contained monitor speaker included in the meter bridge. output is also calibrated to +8 broadcast.

I know when I looked around when I brought them a few years back I found hardly anyone using PQ1347.
