hi supadupa,

the best way is to try out! ....beside the never ending monitor discussion, you should keep in mind that the most important factor is your roomacoustic. you may get a great mix with a cheaper monitorsystem in a good (linear) sounding room...but it´s much more harder to get an o.k.mix in a bad sounding room with even the best sounding monitors...because they´re simply not designed to compensate lacking roomacoustics...I can´t comment the adams...I never worked with them...but I know the genelecs: you can make a great mixes with them...it´s posible, but be careful, you should know how they act: they have a very strong monomid!!!! this "expensive" "right into your face" sound is very impressiv when you ´ll hear them for the first time. the problem is that you´ll here that only on genies...on most other systems you´ll here that the monomid is weak and reverbs/delays on vox is to loud (compared to your well balanced geniemix)...second thing is: to get such a strong monomid a designer has to "hype" the highfreqs...this may cause in dull mixes and even when you´ll have learned this mechanism, you always have to fight against an ears-tiredness....

o.k. ...I hope it helps a bit and didn´t confuse you to much

i mix with 20/20's at the current time.. acoustic wise my room sucks but i work with it. its taken me quite some time to actually get use to the 20/20's but i have my ears trained to them now.
the gen1030's.. i've never been a fan of gens but in a room with good acoustics they will give you a good mix..
adams,event asp8's and dynaudio monitors i love... though dynaudio's are my #1
i say stick with what you have. if you switch right now you may need to get use to the gens... as Andreas said, they have a very strong monomid
