Thread Starter | mics with edge
Im looking for a mic that " bodifies" the weaker element of my voice I have an assortment of the basics and none of them in expierimental combinations seem to be giving me what I need . My voice is low but weak in the mids . Ive got the u195 , 4033 , sm7 , 57 , m147 . Hardy M1 , great river mp1nv adm pres . In all my trials it seems the 4033 still gives me the bite my voice needs to cut through a mix . Yet it seems hollow . What mics do you reach for to make a "dead " voice , active in the mix . Ive heard u67s are agresssive midrange mics , but at 5k thats not going to happen . Or do I need to invest in a decent EQ . 1176 ect |

I've had great luck with the Soundelux U99 the last couple of projects for getting that 'big rock sound' on male vocals, it's big in the presence frequencies (2-5k), but also has a big low end/proximity in cardiod. It's loosely based on a U67.

I have found the Soundelux 251 to be pretty frickin agressive. The MP3 I posted a few weeks ago was all done with that mic into a Daking/Distressor. Tunes |

Possibly a Sony C-37a- Given your discription, I'd give that a try. Wonderful fat mids....

the peluso 2247 is big sounding and tends to push to vocal forward.
