Solid State Mic

I've been looking for a different mic for awhile, but I'm finally ready to take the plunge. Someone recommended me a tlm-103 or the geffell 930 or umt-70. Any recommendations? I'm primarily doing r&b/hip-hop. As far as color goes, I don't need it. Because I already have an A Designs MP-2 and a distressor, so I'm thinking that I need something very accurate. Any opinions? Something under the $1500 range would be nice.
Thanks,
Black Seal
Current mics:
SP C3
AT4033
SM58
MXL V69
AT3025
MXL V67
NTK

Brauner Phantom C. Super clarity and full range. I liked it better than the M930, although that's a nice mic too.

I've been going the same way, clean accurate mic into different preamp/comp combos. And I've got an A Designs too, what a great preamp.

Hmmm

I've looked at the Brauner, but from I've read it can be a little bright. My main concern anout that mic is the ability to pick room sounds too well. I'm having an engineer come over for a consult to help me design a baffle to help out with this problem. I currently use a walk in closet(nicely dampened), but a baffle might be able to make things work more effectively. I hate trying to record in less than ideal spaces, but hey I'm married, and the wifey has at let me at least use our closet to help out. Anyway, the space for vox is approximately 8'x7' for the main dimensions, but with a square add out in one corner that takes 2'x3' out of the original space. Taking that into consideration. I need a clean mic that doesn't have too wide of a pattern. Help a guy out here.
Thanks,
Black Seal

Try the MT Gefell M-930 or M-900... either of those should fit your criteria fairly well. Best of luck with the search.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses,
Any other solid state mics(neutral to bright) that fit the bill? I just want to make sure before I plunk down some more money.
Thanks again,
Black Seal

my audition list would include:
gefell m-930
gefell m-900
soundelux u-195
gefell umt-70
josephson c42 (small diaphram- but still useful in some vocal applications)
soundelux ifet7 (if the budget can stretch a tad)
i'm not a fan of the tlm-103, fwiw.
good luck,
joshua
