Anyone still in love with LEXIVERB from the old MIX TDM rigs ?

probably just me...but i have yet to try a software verb that i like as much as the old LEXIVERB plug on my TDM MIX3 rig.

i often use TL SPACE, and have used a few of the convolution verbs....i just really, really dig the tones i can get from LEXIVERB. i rely alot more on my outboard springs for most of my verb stuff...but the LEXIVERB just kicks it in my world.

lately i have been doing more projects with my quad core intel mac and either LE, Logic, or Sonor....i STILL run my mix rig with an open session to access LEXIVERB.

what a GREAT sounding VERB !!

best,

I only heard from it I came to late to DAWs.
Tony told me it was great...

So the only way to get great reverb ITB without LEXI is in my opinion the Wizoo W2 if still have one...or a clever combination of a Breverb and an Altiverb Unit.

That is a solution as long you wont stay ITB.
Maybe this here is a little excessive but goes in the right direction to get high end reverb ITB.....Comparison Lexi 960L vs Plug Ins

I'm in total agreement with you. I'm yet to find any plugin reverb as good and easy as lexiverb. Loved it. It's a real shame they never ported it to OSX.

So Lexiverb won't run on OSX ? That's a shame, I have PT Mix 6.4 on OSX and am sick of D verb
If it will work on OSX then does anyone have a copy they want to sell ?

Well, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person whose ears have heard the same thing !! I too still have a PT mix (5 card) rig and occasionally will still use the Lexiverb plugin. I actually prefer it to Altiverb. But neither can come close to touching what my TC M5000 can do in this regard; nor what my Eventide D/SE can do either!

And on a separate (but IMO related) note, I am still using PT mix because I have tried the HD accel rig extensively over at a friends studio and was not convinced that it offered any major sonic improvements over PT Mix. For the most part the plugins sound the same and have not really advanced much at all over PT mix. And he has over $15,000 invested in plugins!!! He has also come over to my studio with his consolidated raw tracks so we could import them into PT mix, and since that time he has been very depressed about how much money he invested in PT HD and the plugins. I have a Trident series 80 console (recapped) and some really nice outboard comps and verbs patched in. When he heard the difference in the way his mixes sounded thru my rig he was almost reduced to tears because he is in ALOT of debt for his investments in the ITB realm. He made his investments at about the same time that I decided to go the OTB route, and he remembers warning me about investing in older analog gear and outboard gear and keeping the antiquated (his exact words) PT Mix rig.

Now he realizes that besides the obviously inferior sound quality, his investment will eventually be worth about 5% of what he put into it. Just look at what PT Mix Core and Farm cards are selling for these days on Ebay!!! These were at one time $3000-6000 each cards, and are now worth $200 each!!!! The same will eventually happen to HD cards, and the plugins will be worth almost nothing -- yet he will still be paying of his $35,000 loan debt for MANY years to come! Yikes !!!!

PT HD, until the prices come down close enough to what the Mix cards are at now. Then, and ONLY then will I make the jump !!!

The point is you CAN stay ITB with the PCM96. You hook it up via Firewire, load in the plug-in and.....bang!!! Shows up in your plug-in list just like software. Only it's hardware. they're still ironing a few kinks out as we type, but the unit is FANTASTIC.

Yeah - i liked using the Lex on early reflections only and using it as a "room"maker.

Lovely for overheads.

Plugs now DO sound a lot better - the old D3 was hopeless, but at the time I thought it was ace!

We have all our external rack effects digitally connected to our DAW ... we have a 8 channel converter Spdif/AES to Rbus ..so we stay ITB.
