Sound effects websites

Hi. I am working on a comedy cd and we need some sound effects. We have some sound fx cds but they don't have the fx we need on them.

Besides sounddogs.com, does anyone know of any good pay-per-download fx websites, or have any other suggestions?
We don't want to look through cd after cd, and we can't afford a complete Sound Ideas..

thanks for any ideas

Hey Mark,

I think I've heard some of your comedy. Good stuff--completely absurdist irreverent humor. Reminded me of a 21rst century American goon show.

Re the stock sounds:

You could try Barney at earwax productions.

Best,

Jason

Gorney, you can find a lot of free sound efx by typing in the names of a different soundfiles in Google and see what comes up. Examples: crowd.wav, siren.wav. applause.wav, etc. Or with an .mp3 extension, or whatever. I just recently recorded a song that I wanted to sound like it was being played live in an Irish bar. Was able to find all the sound effects online just by hunting for various related soundfile names.
