Drum Pres if not API or Daking?

I'm wondering what drum pres people recommend if not going for the favorites API 3124 or Daking Mic Pre IV.

I hear the API is very hot level-wise and that if you press pad (to compensate) the sound changes. I assume this is true of the 512 too? Also, I'd rather not get into needing attenuators for every channel.

The Dakings I've heard briefly-- could use more time with them honestly. I'm not sure the Trident-style pres and Daking layout are right for me.

I'm getting there with my drum sounds but don't yet have top pres for everything. I'm also wondering whether having 4 of the same type will benefit the sound.

Here is what I'm using now:
Kick AKG112 Neve 33115
Snare SM57 racked re-engineered Amek Mozart pre/eq
Overheads AKG535EB RNP
Room 414BULS or Fathead Avalon 737
Toms Beta57s Mackie 1604VLZ3
possibly Amek for hihat

Thanks

The NPNG 2NW comes to mind. Its the most breathtaking drum mike amplifier I've ever used. There is a resolution that is unsurpassed in texture and clarity with any microphone used, even your 57's. AND, its got a VARIABLE attenuator BUILT IN [rather original feature you wont find anywhere else] 4 Channels of this preamp will just about light your drums on fire, so I caution you.

Another choice might be the Crane Song Flamingo, or the Great River MP2NV. These preamps have been extremely clutch in achieving some of the best drum textures I have been able to get. I would also HIGHLY recommend the Sebatron 4000e as it reminds me of a TUBED 3124+ in operation [but with cool EQ features so you can change the texture slightly] because its like a hybrid of the API [fast, punchy, clear] and the UA stuff [pretty colored and round], but the Sebatron actually has more WAY MORE HEADROOM and CLARITY than any 610 I've ever used.

there is so much good stuff out there that you could just about buy anything around or above 700 bucks a channel and it would work great. but the first thing that comes to mind is chandler germanium for kick and snare, and the a designs stuff, though i can only vouch for the pacifica and red.
