| Anyone ordering a Fireface 800 read this ! It seems that some units (mine included) shipped with less than stellar firewire cables. You will notice the following if this is the case with yours (PC): Everything installs correctly, device shows up in device manager. The RME icon in the tray is present, meaning the driver is working properly. You cannot open the settings dialog. You cannot complete a BIOS flash of the unit. You probably can't playback or record. Save yourself some time, change the cable first. I spent 5 - 6 hours, before I tried it Nathan
