Identify a Chilton

I have a Chilton board that I need to offload. I can't figure out the model number or any idea of what its worth (I know it ain't no Neve!).

Here are a couple of pics -

Anyone got any idea how to identify the model?

It belongs to the university I work for and we want to get rid of it. Valuation is for auction/disposal purposes, not to see if we're sitting on a million bucks.

Rich!

Where did that come from!? Was that the board sitting in the case backstage Cook all that time?

If only I had've known...

P.S. Also, small world!

Hi again Rich, I'm bored here and just did some googling. It looks as if its a Chilton QM 16/8 board according to this: http://www.chilton-broadcast.com/Ima...nformation.pdf

Definitely a QM of some kind if not the 16/8, I would guess. Can I have it? Hahaha

What's up Tiller? Yeah, it was in the big metal case in the dressing room. We have no space here, and we're getting rid of it, along with the Moog. I narrowed the model down to the QM1 or QM3, but can't figure out what the difference is.

Here's the thing... can't find a power supply for it, so can't even see if it works, but will continue to look for one. Are you seriously interested in it if we find the power supply? Might be able to sell it to you pretty cheap. I'm sure it'll be a breeze to take it to Montreal with you... it doesn't way like 2 tons or anything.

Check out this little video. He uses a Chilton Mixer.

Robert Babicz about mastering audio on Vimeo

I recently saw one on ebay in the UK, I think it was 8 or 16 Channels. I can“t really remember but I think it sold for about 400 Euros.
If I weren“t on the other side of the globe I would definately be interested as well.

Hi
It looks very similar to one I used to use have with a partner in a studio in London. I think it was a QM2/Qm3? Try contacting Mark at Funky Junk http://www.proaudioeurope.com he's a bit of an expert on these and rated them very highly.I think he had a similar model on sale recently for around £2000. Fantastic sounding EQ.I'd hang onto it if I were you.

By the way Mark at Funky Junk made a power supply for the Chilton for us out of an old Neve power supply. It cost about £400. They also sell old manuals for it.

Hahaha, yeah, light as a feather! If I were to get it I'd have to store it somewhere in St. John's for a couple years-- not really practical. I'd be interested to know what you guys are going to want to get for it though. It could be too good to pass up, lemme know!

And you're FINALLY getting rid of the Moog!? Goddamn! Even if it's in dire need of some TLC that will fetch a pretty penny. I would definitely buy it if finances allow. I have a feeling you'll get some very high bidders though-- too rich for my blood. Are the funds raised going to go back into the school's tech budget? Hopefully they will let you invest some of it into some more gear, or perhaps getting PC's control room finished.

Good luck with it all man!

-Adam

P.S. I'm in the middle of designing/sourcing stuff for my little mixing room in Montreal. I'll send you some pics when I get it set up!
