beautiful studio and now that's a pretty basstrap!!

from wire mags feature on vladislav delay - all white, zen-like personal studio. and plenty gearslutty stuff too. there is manley, cranesong and some weiss gear too. I am in vein!

check out the first pic. the rear-wall is an elaborate bass trap co-starring as a design element. very spacy, I guess he is getting whiteouts in there;)

and boy that cccp-sweater is tres cool!

can anybody tell me what monitor speakers he is using - including the sub?!

Am I the only one who thinks it's way to sterile??

Jeez.... put on your lab coat it's time for a session

Way to white in there. I'd spill something and mess it up for certain.

It does look like a great room to contemplate all those kick and snare drum variations techno is so famous for.

All I can think about when looking at the second photo is "don't spill that tea mother focker!!!"

I can't even buy white clothing lol

This setup looks like some pictures I saw of Klaus Schulze. The white color scheme is a bit off-putting, but other than that... nice...

From firsthand experience...hell yes

I did my last control room the same way and figured it out real quick. I had to take the lights down to almost nothing with really low watt bulbs and a variac, then still ended up adding one blue bulb to the tracks on either side of the room for some color. On the other hand, I had black furniture with oak trim and thin gray office carpet on the floor, but just the white you could see was too much. - It was nice when you needed to wake up though. I could flip over to the fluorescents in the ceiling and go zero to sixty.

His diffusors look just like mine too, but he's got deeper wells. Mine stops at the box edge. I wonder what they're built from (I went with coated styrofoam for weight).

George

PS- I wonder if he's got those naked lady milk taps like on Clockwork Orange?

I would bet 5$ he bought all of that with his inheritance.
It seems a little too perfect and pretentious to me. Not enough hunger and soul in that place.

Me too. I'd only last 20 minutes and I'd have back-ache and pins and needles from the waist down...

in the universe of intelligent techno he is right up there with autechre, aphex twin and pole. anima on mille plateux was a classic. he comes from a jazz background, played drums for a couple of years and had some formal training even. he now has a jazz band again where he is sitting behind the kit. very curios to hear how that will sound.

I used to sit on the floor and build model cars.

Then again... the scarf? The pose he has in the pic with the scarf?
