Howdy all,

I know that there have been plenty of posts like this in the past, but I want to get some responses to my specific query.

I recently began leasing a pretty nice studio here in Austin, TX. I have about 2000 sq ft. with a great live room, 2 iso booths and control room. Everything is wired and functioning properly. I record all genres, but rock mainly.

Right now my current setup is:

Nuendo 2 w/ plugins out the wazoo
MOTU 828 MKII x2
Allen & Heath 24 channel board
Event SP8 monitors

4 SM57
4 SM58
2 BLUE Dragonfly
2 Nueman TLM103
3 Sennheiser MD421
1 Beta 52
1 R0DE Classic One

Where do I go from here? You will notice my lack of outboard compressors, preamps and reverb units.

I have been looking at Avalon 747, along with an M5. But what improvements should I be looking at first for the biggest bang for the buck. I will be laying about 10K down for some new gear, but want to make logical steps towards upgrading.

I can currently track 20 tracks simultaneously, so I really don't think I need more in that regard. My quality is pretty solid right now, but I want to be able to compete with the bigger boys instead of just other project studios in my area.

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
