I wise this was a joke...

EDIT: Title should read "I WISH this was a joke." Hopefully most of you figured that out.

Why?

I beleive "rappist" is the correct term (at least that's what we like to call them around here).

Ha ha sorry about the repost guys.

Nothing came up when I searched for "crystal cable." It's almost like this hasn't caught on.

Apparently the idea of the bedazzled cable is purely for live aesthetics, to grab attention for the singer. I find that musical talent works much better than a bedazzled mic cable. But I'm old fashioned like that.

These are the same guys who had the incredibly condescending ad campaing asking "if we were ready for Neutrik?" which put off just about every experienced audio tech and engineer I know. So I wouldn't put it past them to put in some kind of BS which would further insult everyone's intelligence.

I dunno. I think I'm going to make up one cable with these to keep around the studio.

I'll bring it out whenever I've got a "Star" in the studio.

Ppfff! I think the real tragedy here is the fact that everyone isn't already using these, the crystals obviously have some sort of healing power for sounds that pass through them....

A female XLR, that maybe makes sense (in a wanky sort of way). But why would you put crystals on a male XLR that is going to be plugged into a stage box and not in plain view? Maybe im crazy, but i find a sharpie and some white tape just fine for distinguishing cables...

The truth is that they wouldn't be making them if people didn't buy them. That means they must be selling enough to keep them in production?

"CrystalCon is just the beginning of several novelty-type connectors that we are looking into. Creating specialty products is a great way to make our connectors standout, not only technically, but now visually."

That means sillier things are on the way! Haha, I say if that's how you want to spend your money go for it. I think I'd rather put it towards some more mics or some rack gear myself.
