In my opinion Gear Slutz has had an amazing run since the new year. The special forum on How To Make Money, the new forum on Big Studios Closing, and Richard Dodd's guest forum have all been a damn good time. Some old faces have reappeared and some new faces have shown up. It goes to show that recording bbs can be more than a steady parade of mic preamp questions and flame wars. Great work Jules!

engineering & production tips

Thanks very much.

I am especially pleased with the level of engineering & production tips that appear in the forums. Frequently I get asked to create spesific forums dedicated to these topics, but you only have to open your eyes to see MANY MANY helpfull threads on the subjects asked for. Sure it's a recording gear forum, but questions about 'what gear' are soon followed by HOW to use that gear, production issues following that is a natural progression! Please remember to make good use of the 'SEARCH' function it's all here if you look.

Re future guest moderators, the best thing to do if you have someone in mind is to try to alert them to this site yourself. Please do!

Re suggestions for the site - please contact me via email jules @ gearslutz . com or PM me rather than post up questions or suggestions or polls - thanks.

I hope to bring the site some innovation this year, so stick with us!

Hats off to all our contributers and moderators!

Thats YOU!

I got mislead by a lot of the other so called "recording" bbs' that are floating around on the internet before landing here.

Gearslutz has a very high signal to noise ratio!!! It is truely way above and beyond the rest.

yeah, thank you for doing this.
it was a bit intimidating for me at first to post here 'cause so many people here are truly gear pro's, but i didn't get flamed for asking at times the obvious, at times the inane.

props Brooklyn style! :D

Couldn't agree more. I don't spend much time on the web but if I do it's right here at GS. After nearly 35 years in the biz I learn something new nearly everytime I check in here.

Jules - you are the person! (trying to be more PC in my old age)
