Pro Tools draws incorrect audio files

7.4 with the CS 5..... update and it still draws the wrong audio file, now and then. It never did it in 7.3. It is a total pain in the butt, to edit audio files that do not relate visually with the audio. Anyone have this problem too?
I trashed the Digi Database and the preferences. And it still happens.
ProFools! ?
What were they thinking.

LE or HD? I'm on HD and sometimes part of the waveforms are very light shades of whatever color they happen to be. I've also been having problems where I'll delete part of an audio file (reigon) and it'll still play what I had deleted. I'm going to hold off on updates for a while. My rig crashed the other day for the first time ever.

select the region or regions in question, go to the pull down menu under the audio bin and select recalculate waveforms. This should fix your problem and the waveforms should be displayed correctly.

I have been doing that, but it is pain in the butt to keep doing it and time is money

Agreed. I never had this problem with Pro Tools before 7.4

This is a well known bug under 7.4 - it's been mentioned several times on here, and I think it's on a sticky in the DUC as well!

Although weirdly enough, I've not noticed it happening to me recently...

PT Wave files

My Wave files are showing as 6-12 DB louder than they actually are recorded.. Is this the problem you are speaking of? Files that were between -6 and 0 db when I exported them from nuendo were solid blocks in PT.

nah - you've just zoomed in too far on your wave forms! Are they metering correctly?

there's buttons on the top left, which will adjust this and give you a more reasonable view!

I've found that once you zoom in past a certain level they are displayed correctly but as soon as you zoom out again they do their funny business.
So I just keep going in for edits, it's annoying but I can deal with it for now
