Thread Starter | Long term studio rental...
Hey Slutz- My partner and I are outgrowing our home studio. To take our work as producers to the next level, we really need to find a space to work in. We are not, however, ready to build our own room. We don't have the finances and don't want to enter into that kind of debt. Plus we have projects to work on right now! In an ideal world we'd find a studio with some or no gear, and just move right in with our stuff. We don't need a huge facility... A B-room at a larger facility would be perfet. So my question to you is this: what kinds of long term arrangements have you seen? Have any suggestions of different ways to work something out? What kind of rent would you expect to see if we were moving into your B-studio? I know this is kind of a general and broad question, but I'm sure many of you have experience with this. Thanks! |

totally depends on where you are. i know of a studio here in nyc that just relocated and have some rooms up for rent. they have a very nice live/tracking room and the engineers rent their own rooms and also have to pay to use/reserve the live/tracking room. they where going from 1800 to 3200 a month depending on the room size.

Cool, thanks David. That helps a lot. Did those rooms include gear? A basic HD system or something? Or just empty rooms? Anyone else? |

Aah, that narrows it down and changes the rates a bit I think :-) Good luck to you!!

Thread Starter | Thanks, man! Actually, could you give an idea for what rooms in LA go for? That could help me figure out something here. I've seen this kind of deal in LA a lot, but almost never out here...
