New powerbooks

www.apple.com/powerbook/

Anyone else disappointed these aren't G5s? I know I am.

Well now at least --- as an owner of a recent-vintage Powerbook G4 --- I won't feel the sting of new model envy I was expecting to feel this season.

VERY SAD.
Once again Apple tries to do a lame upgrade.
But at least the price is better.
I am upgrading my dead 667 but it's an iBook for me.

More RAM, bigger HD, newer video card, lower price , but 'best' of all:

Optical digital audio I/O on the 17" Powerbook.
Too bad it's not on the smaller models tho. Would be great to just hook up an AD/DA convertor and start recording.

Let's hope we'll see this expanded to the other Powerbooks as well in the future.

Aside from from what DrDeltaM said, the new powerbooks have a sudden motion sensor, which protects your hard drive in case of a fall or any kind of impact to your PB.
