I 've listened to it,and still cann't believe it. I think their drumset, especially the Kick Drum, is probably layered with something other than human voice. And the strings, the dist rhythm guitar....something like these what do you guys think? |

I saw these guys live before a Michael Buble concert. Good stuff. Nothing but them and their microphones. I don't think they are triggering any sounds or anything. Probably just tailored eq and compression behind the scenes. Not sure about the album.

It's more than eq and comp. The sound they simulate is totally different in frequency responce. |

I'm assuming they clap their hands and probably stamp and thump on their own chests, yes? I'm listening to "In the Air Tonight" and it's pretty fun. FWIW, the gated cannon toms were pretty believably human. I'm a big fan of a capella groups in general and have a soft spot for a capella groups that emulate 'real' band instruments. There were some great ones in the 30s and 40s. Almost anyone can do a trombone, of course, but there was one country swing oriented vocal group where the guy did a close to dead on pedal steel, pinching his nostrils closed theatrically. Coincidentally, I was listening to Fairfield Four when I came on this thread. A good segue. I think I'll interleave the two acts for a while...

I'm pretty sceptical having seen their vid on youtube. I've never heard beatbox drums sound anything like that. Plus they are playing drums, bass and guitar in the vid? I'll be supremely impressed if that is all voice. |

I saw them performing live on a UK tv show. All live vocals and extremely impressive. A very talented bunch of guys.
