Thread Starter | Monitor Passing Noise Thru Console!!! All of a sudden, the monitor for the old pc that I run my automation software on is causing this crazy noise to come thru the board!!! It's like a 16k tone with a random pink noise burst going on way in the background. I am positive it's the monitor b/c when i cut it off, the noise stops. What gives?!?!?! I've got a record to mix tomorrow! HELP!!!! |

| Is it comming out of the monitor, or out of the speakers? I've heard several monitors do that over the years (16kHz is near the usuall horizontal refresh rate). Usually it is something loose on or near the electron gun assy. Do yourself a favor and go buy a 17" LCD monitor... -tINY |

| Wow, you can actually still hear 16K? And you call yourself a Gearslut? Do what tINY says. Chris |

| Actually, I hear a little bit of 17-18 kHz all the time (I figure about 25-30dB).... -tINY |

Thread Starter | Getting an lcd isn't an option, I don't think. Its an older pc-style monitor, very limited resolution, and the connection is a type I've never seen. It's part of a proprietary setup for an Optifile Tetra automation system. |
