Thread Starter | Piano Mic'ing for Drum Room
Hey folks, I've been hearing all sorts of different ways folks have been tracking their drum setup within the same room as a piano...mic'ing the piano (not played of course) as a sort of room/sustain sound to add to the overall kit sound. I was wondering if anyone out there is actually doing this or if this was just some crazy college-rock sort of trick. One way I have heard as supposedly common was to play out the tonic of the key the song is in and tape down the sustain pedal. Any comments? -Schex
