(home) studio building in Toronto?

Don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I gotta start somewhere.

I just moved and I'm trying to setup a new home studio layout in my (above ground) Mississauga basement. I'm having trouble finding anyone in the Toronto area who knows about such things.

I've seen most of the online resources for acoustic design etc, but being as I am downright lethal with a power tool in my hand, I'm gonna definitely need outside help. I'm trying to keep it all at the 'semi-pro, non-fanatical' level, but at the same time I hate to spend any money at all if it's not gonna make the room sound nice...

I know there's some Canuck-slutz out there. Any Toronto (or thereabouts) gs'ers with references to share????

Thanks in advance...

Thanks guys (homies?)!

I'll be sending out some PM's when I get a chance.

Kestral, thanks for the links but I'm already pretty well acquainted with the fine folks at the local retail hangouts. At least at L&M, I find that when asked about specific construction/design help for home studios, they kinda' just shrug...

I was hoping there'd be somebody perhaps who'd done work at or for local recording studios who could just advise me on the smartest way to spend my modest budget...

cheers Canucks -- sure is snowin' a whole lot today, eh?

Call Terry Medwedyk.

He really knows how to keep it simple, do it right, and not overspend.

A wealth of info and extremely pleasant. Builds a great room too. Many of his rooms are my fav to mix and track in.

Ty

PM me for a number if you can't find it.
