Thread Starter | There's a gremlin in my UA2192-Help needed!!
I'll keep it as short as possible. The Gear: Korg Triton keyboard analog out to UA 2192 in, UA 2192 analog out to monitors. (The UA is connected to my Digi 192 via aes/bu) The issue: For months, I've had no problem, but all of a sudden, the following is happening: I play the keyboard on a piano preset through the UA for practicing a song etc and it sounds great, but when I start up Pro Tools, the piano sound from the Triton become tinney, thin, honkey-pick your word. It's not good. I have the UA as the master and the Digi using it's clock and have had no problems with it at all. Keep in mind, I'm not running any signal in or out of Pro Tools at this time. My signal is keyboard-UA2192-monitors. Note: This doesn't happen when just the Digi 192 is turned on-it happens once PT has booted up. I've never run across anything like this before and it's got me stumped. Anyone out there have any ideas on what could be causing this? I'm hoping it's user error and not an issue with the hardware. thanks. |

Ok..It sounds to me like your initial instincts were spot on. It is indeed a gremlin. Open up the interface in sunlight and he'll quickly wither. Alternatively..open in a darkened room and with a good quality net at hand and catch it....their meat is considered a delicacy in parts of korea..and their, much sought after,pea-sized testicles have reputed magical and afrodisiacal properties. Both will sell for 'mucho dollars' to the right buyer!! Glad to be of help. Best Fanny |

Check your routing in PT......sounds like you are monitoring the inputs and outputs at the same time to me.
