Aurora Interface & Pre's

Lynx Aurora 8LT - for a MacPro/Logic system:
Will it work by itself ? - or do we need to get the
LT-FW (Firewire) and/or the LT-ADAT ?
If just one is needed - Which one is advisable ?

API 3124 - Is it worth getting the MB+ version ?

Focusrite Liquid Channel - What can be said about it ?

The Aurora only has AES I/O standard as far as digital audio is concerned, so unless you already have an interface of some sort you'll need to add an LT card to it. If you don't already have an interface of some sort you'll need the Firewire card. If you have an interface with ADAT then you could get the ADAT card.

If you need or want mixing capabilities then the MB+ version of the 3124 may be worth it.

A lot can be said about the Liquid Channel, some good, some bad...what do you want to know about it?

You can also get a Lynx AES16 (PCI) or AES16e (PCIe) card to connect the AURORA to your computer.

If you get a 3124, in 30 years it will still be a good pre. If you get a liquid channel in five years it will be old news. It's quite impressive a first look but it's not the sort of thing you'll be 'so glad' you bought ten records from now. IMO of course.
