New coles ribbons

I'm thinking of adding a pair of these to our royers and beyers.
Are the new ones "the same" as the older ones? or are there obvious differences?

About 2 yrs ago I used a pair of 4038's that were really nice.
Recently a client brought in some brand spankin new ones and they didn't seem quite the same. Just asking a really general question to those who might have a long history with these mics.

As far as i'm aware the Coles ones are made exactly the same way as the STCs were. In fact
they kind of make that a marketing point for the 4038...to the extent that they do any marketing on those things.

Maybe someone else knows different?

Cheers

I think the poster is asking about the new 4040's.
