Melodyne and PT question for you...

Hi, here's my issue:

problem: when I move or nudge tracks with melodyne instantiated, the track moves visually, but the audio plays back in the same spot it was in unless I bypass melodyne.

question: How do I get the melodyne to move it's audio in sync with the actual audio track in Pt when I nudge etc?

much appreciated...thanks,
Steve

Melodyne isn't a real-time effect. It is aware of the DAW playback locator. In playback mode it refers only to it's own internal audio tracks, and not the original audio. To get Melodyne to adjust to new edits and location changes, you need to transfer the audio back into Melodyne again. You'll also lose all of your Melodyne work when you do this.

The solution is pretty simple; don't leave Melodyne inserted during edits - even the plugin version. Print your corrected version, remove the plugin, and then do your edits on the print. You can also nudge inside of Melodyne, if you're still working on a track, although it's not as easy to see how it lines up with other tracks.

Melodyne is really a stand-alone application. The plugin and rewire are just conveniences so you can hear your changes in context through your DAW. It works best if you treat it like it still is, and change your work habits accordingly.

Yes, once you use it stand-alone, it is really quick and easy to use.
This is the only way I use it now.
