| Digidesign's Digital 192i/o fan overkill ???? I Would first like to thanks all of you for this incredible forum...helped us a lot in many ways. I tried to get some experience from users on the DUC concerning the fan noise in the D192i/o. But it seems that people live with it or moves them out the control room. Maybe no one is ready to talk about fan modification on the official site... Since most of you must been keen on a quiet room to hear your "toys" in the best conditions, I might get a bit of a clue on what to do... so here is a sum up : maybe overkill since there is no ad/da in there. aircon room 21°C very open rack with no warm gear temp at 192 fan output 26°C moving it to the machine room is a pain. could I remplace the fan, slow it down with a resistor or open the box and take it out ? love to have your experiences. regards Chris |
