Curious abt Coleman MB2/MB4 VU meter

Having a look at Coleman VU meters ... I would think 2 meters (stereo bus) would be adequate for me, but here's the dilemma:

1) MB2 does not have thru jacks ... so would have to dedicate DA (from DAW) for metering - doesn't seem optimal. Would this warrant a high quality DA, or would an "average" DA be sufficient?

2) MB4 has thru jacks ... my concern is if audio signal (to powered monitors) would be degraded/altered at all passing through this unit?

Anyone used these/Thoughts on usefullness?
Are there any other similar solutions in this price range?

Thanks
Mitch

I have the MB2 Having it in the studio has helped tremendously, Especially when calibrating your entire system - DAW, Converters, etc.

I spoke to Glenn owner of Coleman audio and he said there will be no signal degradation with the thru on the MB4. I have the MB2 wired in the patchbay so no problems there. If I had more cash at the time I would have bought the MB4.

Its a sound investment if you calibrate your DAW.

Thanks Cannikin.
How exactly do you have the MB4 wired through the patchbay?
