Thread Starter | Show me your homemade or custom made console or studio furniture-NO premade or bought
Anyone here would like to show furnishing they nest their gear in, that they've made or custom made. No premade, slap on together ones they bought from a store or already made ones.
Purpose is to see what quality people can get when they make it themselves.
Also state what kind of woods were used and whether you used any special materials or equipment to get the furniture to a state that it is in the picture. eg. Materials like special sliders that you couldn't get from your local hardware stores which enables your heavy keyboard or rack gear to slide out unlike those cheap standard computer keyboard sliders, or special tools, that only a Specialist would have like Metal pipe benders, etc.

[B]Thats a dynaudio speaker.
Is that the Dynaudio 4way Kit speaker they used to have plans out for ? I forgot the name. I always wanted to hear that one in action, seemed like a very very serious design, with the dome mid, esotec tweeter and great dyna woofers.....I my self built the Dynaudio Aries kit (2 way) but have been overally dissapointed with the performace, mostly having issues with the midrange.

The desk in the front was quite complex to design and build. Nobody would build it for me, so I had to do it myself.

Kinda hard to see the credenza, but it is all custom made from mahogany. We have since lost the event monitors and are using Adams PS-22a's. The room feels and sounds awesome. As well as the large, amazing sounding, Chris Pelonis mains.

Shane | Thanks for the compliments guys! Here's a shot from last night, but it's from the video camera so it's not very high quality.
The little plasma globe on the right was a Christmas gift from my wife- apparently, she secretly conferred with M. Wagener for advise on what to get. Thanks Michael, I love it! If I can keep from breaking this one until my birthday in April, she says she'll get me a big 13" version for the producer desk.

The Mother ship feel is definitely there! I like this… Good work man, I’m impressed! How did you bend the wood… By morphing skills or pure brain power. Cool studio, would love to sit there and listen to some nice mixes drinking beer and smoking pot outside in the garden.
Respect!

I designed the desk/racks and had a friend build them. The rack on the left is a fully isolated, reasonably well ventilated rack for the PC and the Console PSU. It does a fabulous job at cutting down fan noise in the CR. (the front door/cover is removed in the picture)
Another friend built the console and speaker stands from scratch. |
