Buzz Audio ARC?

This looks like a pretty cool device. Anyone try it? Very well thought-out it seems.
Forgive me if I already missed this discussion.

I've got one at the studio at the moment.
I'm looking for a "reasonable" priced EQ when I found out that Buzz is going to make one. So I thought why not check the channelstrip and see what's up with it?

I just tried the eq and the comp so far . All I can say is "WOW". The Eq is very powerful without too many artifacts. It's not in the colored departement IMO. It's clean and subtle. I really liked it on bass guitar. I could shape the sound "in" the track. Taking out some booming notes and giving a full low end at the same time .

The comp is in the opto vein - but a really fast one. I could compress like a mofo without killing the live of the instrument.

The nice thing about the ACR is that you can insert one element a piece. When you need a comp insert the comp in the signal (without the eq or limiter) with one switch. I can have the whole thing hooked up at the patch bay and use every element like a standalone unit . That's one of the best things I ever saw. A real selling point IMNSHO.

When you have any questions feel free to shoot a line. I think I'll play a little more with this baby grinn

That is a cool feature for sure.
Thanks for the synopsis.
Sounds very smartly laid out. Good stuff.

I'm biased of course since we are the US Distributor/Dealer for Buzz and Tim is a great friend...but man, his stuff kicks butt. The ARC is probably the most flexible channel strip in it's price range by far...the EQ and Opto comp are easily flexible enough for mastering (with a pair of course). Anything that's good enough for mastering will excel on tracking and mix IMO. You could hear some opinions of the Buzz stuff over at Lynn Fustons forum here:

I'm impressed by the versatility of the ARC.
It seems well suited for the real-world studio work day. Sweet design.
