| Phil Ramone/The Stranger Anybody know anything about Phil Ramone's recording techinques for Billy Joel's The Stranger? the board, phil's favourite mics/comps at the time? Love Billy or hate Billy, there's some pretty great sounds on it. -J |

| I believe that the band tracked live, including Billy singing into an EV RE20. They tracked at A&R studios in NYC, Phil Ramone owned the studio. I love that record, Turnstiles and 52nd street are also great. Same team on them all.
