Do some new Cd's sound too analog to you?

How do you guys feel about the dark, muddy over warm sound that has crept ontosome records as of late? Are some people over doing the warmth?

Anybodyelse notice this?

P.S. The good analog I hear sounds anything but dark and muddy

same here.

i suspect that the muddiness of some recent productions is due to the attempts to create an 'analogue' sound with plug-ins and signal warmers and things that are anything but analogue.
it's like cybersex - nice when there's nothing else. but in comparison to the real thing...

The new Wilco. wow! That's a great, warm sounding record. Sounds like early 70's.
