sdc with tight cardioid pattern

Im looking for a pair of SDC overheads with a tight cardioid pattern. I own the mxl 603s but they are almost omni and have a huge bump at 9k, plus are very noisy. Also own the groove tubes gt-33, but they are a bit midrangey and are very selective about preamps. What is a good sdc pair (under 1k$) that has a relatively tight pattern, low noise and relatively flat frequency response. Ideas so far- Cascade m39, Rode nt-5...

Allow me to be the first to recommend the OktavaMod Mk-012 with hypercardiod capsules (and cardioid and omni).

For hyper-card - the shelf on the AT u873r is easy to compensate for (though I ususally leave it alone, as it tames any shrillness).

For a bit more money, the Earthworks SR25 is really nice with a well-controlled cardioid pattern.
