converter quality; isa 428 vs. digi 002

i am wondering if the quality of the focusrite isa 428's adat card is better than just using the digi 02's analog inputs?
i have heard the isa's adat card "sounds like ass".

Haven't heard the converter card, but I wanted to point out that there is a current thread about the ISA converters and everyone seems to have really positive things to say about them. In fact, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them. I've heard them compared to the converters in the high end Digi interface boxes (definitely not larvy league, but miles ahead of the the low end Digi stuff (like the 002).

Assuming the card is the same as the one they provide for the ISA220, etc. it's a pretty good upgrade for the stock 002 converters. The mid-range in particular is more detailed and clear.

If any thing like the ISA220 converters I would have to disagree on that , as the 002 are just a good as those , but geared more towards the low end and the isa mids could be conscribed as brittle, I got way better results then these when I got the Apogees .

I have heard both and prefer ISA by far... The 002 actually sounded better to me clocked with the ISA...

In my studio I use lavry blue clocking ISA as well... 10 channels of A/D
