Possible way to remove 'fizz' from electric gtrs - via software / plug in

X-Noise by Waves

http://www.waves.com/

I am finding this VERY good for removing unwanted HF crackle or fizz on electric gtrs.

I am CONSTANTLY plauged by getting up a cool sound, but having it overload somewhere in my outboard chain and putting some nast fizz or crackle on to my hard drives...

I do back things off, but its just one of those things where you get a great sound PLUS some crap you dont want WITH IT.

This of course is FURTHER Dr Frankenstein - audio manipulation voodoo

BUT I LIKE IT!

It's like putting a hex on fizz!

Perhaps I need to review my signal chain...

Meanwhile... processing quite a few fizzy gtrs with this seems to let the cymbals & the kit 'crispy' top end shine out clearly...

Marc, my partner was telling me the other day about how well sonic NO Noise works. Anyone been able to compare the 2. I think we can safely say that noise / hum / fizz etc etc removal plugs have come a long way since digi's DINR.

Haven't had a lot of use for 'em myself but you never know ...

I swear I have read somewhere about sly heavy metal producers dipping the VERY high frequencies...

Time to get another couple of Royers?
